I'm a newbie and would like to report a problem. Too many of us Americans place too much blame for our lack of skills on government-run institutions, such as public schools. Instead, all of us need to take more personal responsibility for our own education and the education of our children. Hoping that we can make America great again by merely electing charismatic leaders, no matter how smart or well-intentioned they are, won't do a bit of good if we followers aren't ready, willing and able to work hard. Government-run as well as privately-run institutions can always do better, of course. And there is a limit to how much we can ask of small children. However, the closer we approach adulthood, the more we must start taking responsibility for our own words, actions, and education. This is true regardless of who we are or what we want to do.
